The 2004/2005 vintage is characterised by lower volumes,
due essentially to poor climatic conditions. In effect, after the drought
a cold spell (snow and ice) hit Mediterranean countries.


Spain saw its production fall while certain production areas in France
lost a large part of their harvest. This was particularly the case in the
Alpes-Maritimes.


As for the good news, we should mention the arrival of two new French AOCs: the AOC Oliu di Corsica (Corsican Oil) and the AOC de Nîmes.
